Your pet requires wellness examinations and immunizations to stay healthy.  Wellness examinations are tailored to your pet and include full physical examinations and can include blood testing tailored to your pet's life stage, dental exams and cleaning, internal parasite and heart worm testing, or spay and neuter packages .  Dr. Glen Ritter will check the health of your pet from head to tail and you and your pet will be very happy you came to Riverside Animal Hospital, LLC for service.

Please bring any medical history you have on your pet when you come to visit our clinic.  If you don't have your pet's previous health records, that's okay!  We can assist you in locating them, if possible, or help obtain any important information about your pet during your first visit.  Dr. Ritter can work with whatever information you have and help build your pet's health record moving forward.

In special circumstances, Dr. Ritter will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery. If your pet requires an advanced surgical procedure or testing, we will help you and your pet get the best level of care possible. 

Appointments

Appointments are preferred, but we will always see your pet as a walk in given the vet is available. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately! If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.  Also, it is best to call ahead when planning to bring your pet for a visit to make sure the veterinarian isn't performing surgery or out of the office.  

Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, do not hesitate to call or come to our office immediately. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency. 

If it is after our regular business hours, please call the Animal Emergency Clinic: 318-347-3455.  It is located at 2421 Line Ave, Shreveport, LA 71104. They will assist you with any emergencies!

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
